OBJECTIVE OF THE WOMEN’S RACE. WE ARE A SPORTING EVENT
The Women’s Race is the largest women’s sporting event in Europe, and it is also an international benchmark for charitable support to all kinds of organizations. Its goal after 21 years of history remains to promote running and aerobic exercise among all women, promote health and raise awareness about the importance of exercise and good habits for a healthier life, and give visibility to women’s support causes such as combating gender violence and the social and educational inequalities that women face in all areas.
HISTORY OF THE WOMEN’S RACE: PROMOTING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND HEALTHY HABITS AMONG WOMEN
More than 1,500,000 women have formed the Pink Wave in all editions, in the 154 races held since the first one that took place in Madrid in 2004 until the end of 2024, despite the post-pandemic halt. The Women’s Race is an international benchmark for boosting female participation in sports activities, pioneering in Spain, and has a strong charitable character in favor of all kinds of women-related organizations.
For 21 years, the percentage of women participating in mass-participation races in general has risen from 7% to almost 40%, and one of the most important factors, though not the only one, for women joining races has been that many started running to take part in one of our races.
DONATIONS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE AECC AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
At the end of 2025 we reached the donation figure of 2 million euros to different charitable causes. Since its inception, in addition to promoting women’s sports, the Women’s Race has had a strong charitable and social character. In 2025, the organization that received the largest contribution was the Spanish Association Against Cancer, the main beneficiary organization in these more than two decades of the Women’s Race.
In this 2026, the accumulated donations from the first 2 races (Canarias and Madrid) amount to 186,828 euros, with the Spanish Association Against Cancer again being the main beneficiary this year with 100,000 euros.
OTHER CHARITY PROJECTS
Other charity and scientific projects receive the rest of the contributions from 2024 and 2025 as detailed below.
For example, the four main national collaboration projects are the GEICAM Foundation, leaders in breast cancer research, Wanawake Mujer which fights against female genital mutilation and other forms of violence against women, Intravenus and the Clara Campoamor Association which defends women’s rights in all areas.
Through the full sale of 100% charity bibs and the contributions in each city, a total of 9 local NGOs receive amounts that you can see later in the chart (ALANNA Valencia, Asociación Canaria de Cáncer de Mama y Ginecológico, Fundación Sandra Ibarra de Madrid, Asamma Vitoria, Asociación Española de Cáncer de Mama Metastásico, Asociación de Mulleres con Discapacidade de Galicia ACADAR, AMAC-GEMA Zaragoza, Associació de Dones Ca l’Aurèlia de Barcelona, y Amama Sevilla).
Amounts have also been raised as shown in the chart where we explain the figures, with workshops and activities from the different expos and bib collections in the 9 cities, where organizations such as Intermon Oxfam have also benefited from free space and booth setups thanks to which they gained 62 new members, and social merchandising booths were also installed where women victims of trafficking worked.
Likewise, the 9 local beneficiary projects of the +Solidarias program (Mamás en Acción, Ecca Social, Asociación de Afectadas de Endometriosis de Valencia, AECOSAR, La Sonrisa de María, Adelprise, Galbán, Bolboretas, Atades, Limfacall, Asdent y Acción de Voluntariado) and the 9 NGOs of each city have also had free booths and spaces installed at all runner expos.
We have not included in the chart the 500 bibs donated to groups of refugee women from CEAR and UNHCR and other associations, who have actively participated in the nine races, as support for the integration and empowerment of refugee women and women in vulnerable situations in our country.
In this section, the communication and awareness campaigns whose value and economic impact we do not add to the chart should be included.
BIB 016 and 112
Both in the physical races and in the virtual races held in parallel, all participants will once again wear bib 016 to help spread and raise awareness of the support hotline for victims of gender-based violence which leaves no trace on the phone bill, although the call must be deleted from the call history.
In Gran Canaria, women will wear 112 instead of 016, which is the hotline in the Canary Islands for victims of gender-based violence.
BIB DONATION TO WOMEN AT RISK OF EXCLUSION
Although we have given away bibs since the first edition to different groups of women, since 2023, a group of women supported by UNHCR and CEAR run each race invited by the organization.
This type of initiative is valuable for creating bonds between participants and with the host territory. In addition, this action is essential for the empowerment and strength it provides to the runners and the great awareness-raising work it carries out, helping more and more people learn about the enormous work carried out by organizations such as UNHCR or CEAR throughout Spain.
SOCIAL MERCHANDISING
The social merchandising project #MásQueUnaMuñeca has been developed again in collaboration with Wanawake Mujer which has provided direct employment to 8 women survivors of trafficking and sexual violence. We close the circuit with confirmation that our commitment to social responsibility continues to bear fruit.
The “More than a Doll” project is consolidating itself as an initiative that offers real job opportunities to women who have survived any type of violence, especially trafficking for labor and sexual exploitation. In addition, we wanted to pay tribute to Women in Science, creating the scientist doll to continue highlighting the importance of women and the work they do in different fields.
Opportunity, visibility, participation, empathy, equality and solidarity are the core values of an initiative that we want to continue with the support of all runners, surpassing in 2025 the more than 1,200 dolls that have been sold and showcased this year.
We know how important it is to offer these women this approach to the job market, accompanying them and making it possible for them to acquire skills, competencies and work experience that will help them open that door towards the path of inclusion. An initiative in which all runners will take part this year through their participation in the race, because the Pink Tide represents many things, but above all, sisterhood.
The #morethanadoll collection is the social merchandising of the Women’s Race Circuit together with Wanawake y Proyecto Esperanza. These dolls, sold for €3.5, are an opportunity to access the job market for dozens of women who have survived trafficking for exploitation and gender-based violence. Thanks to them, these women can become citizens with full rights through dignified work.
We also commit to education and awareness through the “Paper Toy”, to gift “family time” and raise awareness on gender equality. It is a cut-out version of the doll models, whose final result is “another object” with volume, which will include awareness-raising content and serve as a keepsake.
MAUA, FLOWERS FOR EQUALITY
One more year, Wanawake Mujer and Women’s Race join forces to promote equality and combat all forms of violence against women and girls, especially three of the most severe: female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage (CM) and trafficking for exploitation (TE).
COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGNS AND +SolidariAs
In addition to the money raised or directly invested, the organization carries out a communication and awareness campaign throughout the entire year through its own channels (website and social media), official media in each of the 9 cities, and also through traditional media, with the goal of empowering and giving visibility to women in all areas.
For the second year, the initiative continues to learn about and support social and solidarity projects and their causes. Under the name +SolidariAs, we will present an NGO in each city visited by the circuit.
WHY THE COLOR PINK?
The Women’s Race has not always included a pink T-shirt with the race bib. We have changed over time, going from white to blue and purple. The reason for using pink shirts is to respect the color chosen YEAR AFTER YEAR by women in the satisfaction survey we conduct at the end of each edition among all participants.

ACCOUNTS
As we mentioned earlier, our accounts are public and filed with the Mercantile Registry.
They are currently audited by the audit team of Capital Auditors and Consultants, S.L. Official Registry of Accounts Auditors no. S1886. NIF B-85296754. (years 2023 and 2024) and previously by PricewaterhouseCoopers Auditores, S.L. Official Registry of Accounts Auditors no. S0242 (years 2020, 2021, 2022).
Sport Life Ibérica is a media group specializing in publishing magazines and digital products about sports, motorsport and lifestyle, as well as organizing running, fitness and cycling events.
The activities carried out by the company, including organizing races such as La Carrera de la Mujer, were impacted by the pandemic, with rising costs due to inflation and very reduced revenue. The consequences of this situation, prolonged over years, are reflected in the results.
Despite this, and the challenges of staging races throughout this period (which the staff and management faced with great effort and dedication), the company has continued organizing races that, as we mentioned, are mainly aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle habits and has also continued collaborating with different charitable causes as you have seen.
Here we show you the audited accounts from the last 5 years, which reflect the situation described.
