Run, manage your energy and go further (at home and outdoors)

There is something that connects many more aspects of our lives than it seems at first glance, and one of them is, precisely, the way we manage energy.

It happens at home, when we try to better understand our consumption, adjust habits or look for solutions that allow us to be more efficient. And it also happens outside, in something as everyday as getting ready for a race, like the Carrera de la Mujer, 6.5 kilometers long.

Because running is not just about moving forward, but about knowing how to pace the effort, listen to your body and find a rhythm you can sustain over time. At a distance like this, starting too fast usually comes with a price later, but holding back too much can also leave you with the feeling of not having made the most of your energy. The balance lies in knowing how to adapt, reading the moment and managing what each person has.

As the kilometers go by, that management becomes more evident. Fatigue appears, the pace changes and the race stops being just a physical challenge. It is at that point that you understand something that at first may seem secondary: moving forward does not depend solely on individual strength. It has a lot to do with what happens around you, with the people who accompany you, with the gestures exchanged and with that feeling of being part of something shared. That is where a different kind of energy appears, one that connects, that pushes and that helps you keep going when it feels a bit tougher.

In everyday life something very similar happens. There are moments when it makes sense to consume more and others when it’s better to “hold back.” Moments when the environment influences more than we think and when small decisions make a long-term difference. Understanding how that energy works and learning to manage it better is, ultimately, a way to gain control and stability.

At Octopus Energy we have been working with this idea for a long time: bringing energy closer to people and making it easier to understand and use in their daily lives. And, just as we support households in that process, it makes sense to be present in these spaces where that energy is also experienced directly.

The Carrera de la Mujer is one of those spaces. An environment where each person finds their own pace, but where no one runs completely alone. Along the course, we will be present with different activations designed to boost energy in the broadest sense: from charging stations for devices to spaces where you can stop for a moment, disconnect and gather momentum again, or even music zones that help maintain rhythm. Small gestures that are part of the experience and that, in many cases, make a difference when you need it the most.

Because energy is in everything we do. And when we learn to manage it better, both inside and outside the home, that’s when we can truly talk about good energy.
