The Aliura Community is a project driven by Suara Cooperative that supports caregivers and families living with dependency. Its goal is to raise visibility for the emotional, logistical and social challenges that caregivers face, create a mutual support network and offer practical tools to make this journey more manageable.
To achieve this, Aliura organizes in-person and virtual meetups where caregivers can share experiences, receive guidance and connect with other families going through similar situations. It also provides advice on legal and financial matters, home care services and resources for the wellbeing of older adults.
In order to sustain its work, the Aliura Community promotes awareness campaigns and collaborates with other organizations in the area. It has also recently contributed to a study highlighting the impact of family caregiving and the role of women caregivers, especially the so-called sandwich generation (generally women between 40 and 55 who simultaneously care for their young children and their elderly parents).
On Sunday, November 16, the Aliura Community will take part as a group in the Women’s Race in Barcelona, actively participating in the event and offering in the post-finish area a space for conversation, information and support for all caregivers.
