The November 22 event will bring the circuit calendar to a close with a day that promotes female participation in sport and brings together women with different levels of experience and goals.
Barcelona will be the meeting point to bid farewell to a new season of the Carrera de la Mujer Central Lechera Asturiana. The city will host the final event of the 2026 calendar next Sunday, November 22, with registration opening this Wednesday, September 16. An opportunity to close the year by sharing a sporting goal with friends, family members or colleagues, both for those taking part in a fun run for the first time and for those who do it regularly.
With the start of the registration process, which will take place through the event website, the countdown begins for a day that will once again give visibility to women’s sport on the streets of the Catalan capital and aims to encourage more women to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives.
A race bib as a starting point
Preparing for a race can become motivation to start training, get back into a routine or dedicate more time to sport. That is one of the goals of the Carrera de la Mujer: to facilitate a first approach to sport and support those who want to continue with it.
The Barcelona event will bring together different ways of experiencing this process. For some participants, the challenge will be pinning on a race bib for the first time; for others, returning to a race they share every year or seeing how much they have improved. Everyone will have their place in an event that values each woman’s effort and the possibility of progressing from her own starting point.
Sharing that journey is also part of the proposal. Meeting up to train, discovering a shared hobby or finding a group with which to stay consistent are experiences that can begin with a registration and continue after crossing the finish line.
ASACO joins +Solidarias in Barcelona
The event’s social commitment will also be present through +Solidarias, an initiative that in Barcelona will be linked to ASACO, the Association of People Affected by Ovarian and Gynecological Cancer.
The organization provides information and support to affected women and works to raise awareness of gynecological cancers. Its participation will help bring this work closer to the race community and add an awareness space within the sporting event.
More women present in sport
The Carrera de la Mujer Central Lechera Asturiana works to increase female participation in sport and help women find spaces in which to practice it, enjoy it and feel like protagonists, while also maintaining a real social commitment since its origins
The November 22 event will bring that goal to the streets of Barcelona. Women from different generations will share a sporting experience that helps make the diversity of participants visible and create relatable role models for those who have not yet taken the step.
Alongside this drive for women’s sport, the race will maintain the social commitment that has been part of the circuit’s identity since its beginnings. In Barcelona, 100% charity race bibs in support of En Ca L’Aurelia will be available, with the full amount raised through these registrations going to the organization.
In 2026, the Carrera de la Mujer Central Lechera Asturiana has the main sponsorship of Central Lechera Asturiana, Oysho and Banco Santander, together with Marlente, Octopus Energy and Neutrogena. Volvo is the official vehicle and Correos Express, the official logistics provider. Also collaborating are Cosmo, Cadena Dial and the Daiichi Sankyo | AstraZeneca Alliance. The race has the support of the Barcelona City Council and local sponsors joining are Ziaja, Batiste, Instituts Odontolològics, GOYA, Planet Fitness, Compeed, Be-Kind, L’Oreal StandUp, Fontarel and La Sirena.
