The project featured in the +SolidariAs section in Gijón is Corazones Solidarios Asturias, a non-profit association dedicated to carrying out the "Micky Heart Pillow project" in Asturias. This project consists of making therapeutic cushions that have the perfect shape and weight for people who have undergone breast cancer surgery to place under the armpit of the operated breast, helping to ease post-surgery discomfort and making recovery much more manageable.

This year, the organizers of the Women’s Race are going to make a donation of €1370 to Corazones Solidarios to pay for all the fabrics they will purchase to make the therapeutic cushions for the year 2027.

Corazones Solidarios Asturias holds an annual meetup in spring where they invite everyone who wants to help make the cushions, and once they are finished, they distribute them across all public hospitals in Asturias. In these hospitals, they are delivered completely free of charge to all patients who have undergone breast cancer surgery.

To raise funds to buy the necessary materials, Corazones Solidarios Asturias sells pins that are exact replicas of their cushions in miniature, as well as merchandise featuring the association’s logo. Corazones Solidarios Asturias will be at the runners’ expo on Saturday, June 20 at the Palacio de los Deportes, and on Sunday, June 21 in the post-finish area of the Women’s Race.
