The Carrera de la Mujer Central Lechera Asturiana is warming up in the running city. Exactly one month from now, on Sunday, June 7, Valencia will welcome the solidarity-driven Pink Wave of the Carrera de la Mujer.
The race is already nearing 4,000 registered women, who will once again wear number 016 on their bibs, the hotline for victims of all forms of violence against women. The organization is finalizing all details for what will be another great solidarity running festival for women, on a day that will end with the traditional fitness and aerobics festival after crossing the long-awaited finish line.
Registration for the Pink Wave mass participation race, which this year also debuts a new date in the Valencia Ciudad del Running calendar, being held for the first time in June, is still available on the official website with different options.
After the events in Gran Canaria (already held), Madrid (May 10) and Vitoria–Gasteiz (May 31), the Carrera de la Mujer will arrive in Valencia, where thousands of participants will be able to complete the course either running or walking.
The SportWoman Expo, where participants will collect their Oysho shirts and runner’s bag, will take place on Friday, June 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., non-stop, at Feria Valencia (Hall 7).
Solidarity initiatives
The Valencia Carrera de la Mujer does not forget the municipalities and residents affected by the Dana, and in this 2026 edition, the organization will once again allocate one euro from each registration to the Fundació Horta Sud.
In 2025, the organization already donated a total of 10,591 euros to this Fundació, which has continued working to restore normality in the region after the Dana, which changed the lives of so many residents and municipalities a year and a half ago.
In the first months, Fundació Horta Sud responded to the most urgent needs with direct and in-kind aid worth more than 1.5 million euros, reaching more than 300 associations. With the two Transformem en Xarxa calls, they have allocated half a million euros to 111 projects, with the participation of 325 associations working together, with the collaboration of other committed entities and companies.
Furthermore, the organization continues to offer 100 fully solidarity-based registrations to benefit Alanna, a non-profit organization created in 2002, aimed at achieving an equal society and the inclusion of women in situations of severe vulnerability.
The +SolidariAs section this year in Valencia will be represented by the AMU Association, which works to promote knowledge and research on uveal melanoma, a rare type of cancer that affects the eye.
In addition, the Carrera de la Mujer, upon completing the last of the 9 races in 2026, will make a contribution of 100,000 euros to the Spanish Association Against Cancer, 20,000 euros more than in 2025, aiming to reach 200,000 euros in donations across all its solidarity projects and the contribution of the runners in this edition.
In 2025, the historic figure of 1,600,000 women participating since 2004 in what is the largest women’s sporting event in Europe was surpassed. In 2026, the goal remains to promote running and aerobic exercise among women of all ages, fight cancer, raise funds to support research, and raise awareness of the importance of early prevention, as well as combat gender violence and the social and educational inequalities women face in all areas.
The national circuit of the Carrera de la Mujer Central Lechera Asturiana 2026 will be mainly sponsored by Central Lechera Asturiana, Oysho and Banco Santander, together with Marlene, Octopus Energy and Neutrogena. Volvo is the official vehicle and Correos Express the official logistics provider. With the collaboration of Cosmo, Cadena Dial and Daiichi Sankyo | AstraZeneca Alliance.
With local support from Institutos Odontológicos, Ziaja, Planet Fitness, GOYA, Tongil, Compeed, Oman Tourism, Vareser and World Avocado Organisation, and the Valencia City Council, through its Municipal Sports Foundation.
